Apple Watch Series 7 prices leak ahead of start to preorders

Last updated

A rumor on Thursday claims to shed light on Apple Watch Series 7 pricing, with the information detailing purchase costs that are largely identical to those of Apple Watch Series 6.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, hit-or-miss leaker Jon Prosser claims to have a price list for a number of Apple Watch Series 7 configurations. The wearable is due to go up for presale on Friday, though Apple has yet to disclose exact pricing, saying only that the device starts at $399.

Apple appears to be carrying over its pricing strategy from Apple Watch Series 6, with aluminum models topping out at $529 for 45mm variants with cellular capabilities. Stainless steel versions start at $699 for 41mm models and move to $749 for the larger 45mm case size. Apple Watch with a titanium chassis, sells for $799 and $849, depending on size. Apple Watch Hermes is not included in the list.

Of course, bundling Watch with a non-standard band adds to the price. For example, a stainless steel model with Milanese Loop comes at a $50 premium when compared to the standard Sport Band.

A selection of Apple's price list, according to Prosser:

  • 41mm Aluminum (GPS) $399
  • 45mm Aluminum (GPS) $429
  • 41mm Aluminum (GPS + Cellular) $499
  • 45mm Aluminum (GPS + Cellular) $529

  • 45mm Stainless Steel w/ Milanese Loop (GPS + Cellular) $799
  • 41mm Titanium (GPS + Cellular) $799
  • 45mm Titanium (GPS + Cellular) $849

On Wednesday, Amazon Canada revealed a small selection of what appears to be standard pairings of aluminum and stainless steel Apple Watch Series 7 cases and bands. The listed combinations do not include Apple Watch titanium, Apple Watch Hermes or Nike configurations and likely reflect what third-party resellers will have on hand when orders go live tomorrow.

Apple is anticipated to offer a wider variety of case and band pairings through Apple Watch Studio, a build to order tool presented exclusively through the company's store. This is where customers can expected to find the full array of Sport Band, Sport Loop, Solo Loop, Braided Solo Loop, leather link, modern buckle, Milanese Loop and stainless steel link options.
