The first public betas for iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS Ventura 13.2, and others have become available for testers signed up for Apple's public beta program.
A new round of public betas are available
Just a day after resuming the developer beta cycle for the next versions of its major operating systems, Apple has now issued the first public betas. AppleInsider does not recommend downloading beta software except for development purposes, and then on dedicated hardware.
Apple released developer betas for iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3, and macOS Ventura 13.2 on Wednesday. The public betas are the same build as the developer betas, so users shouldn't find any differences between the two.
Apple didn't' include new release notes for these betas. Users discovered that the updates included support for physical security keys that can be used for two-factor authentication.
There is a new information card that appears for HomePod owners that describes the tap-to-play feature. Users can bring their iPhone close to the HomePod to begin or end an AirPlay 2 connection that gives the user control over HomePod audio from the iPhone.
Public beta versions of the releases are available via the Apple Beta Software Program website.
