Now official, the Insta360 Go 3 is the long-awaited successor to the brand's ultra-portable action cam lineup that now includes a removable flip screen action pod for added battery and functionality.
The Insta360 Go 3 weighs only 1.2 ounces and retains its magnetic body to adhere to various surfaces and mounts. A pivot stand, clip, and magnetic pendant are included in the box.
Videos can be captured at up to 2.7K resolution and Insta360 has removed the clip length limit with this new model. There are two onboard microphones — double that last generation — for improved audio and updated voice control.
The biggest change generation-over-generation is the inclusion of the all-new action pod. This companion device clips onto the back of the Insta360 Go 3 for more control.
It has a built-in flip screen that you can use to preview your shot or control the camera and it can extend the battery life. Insta360 Go 3 can shoot for 45 minutes on a single charge — twice that of the last model — but extends to 170 minutes when inserted in the action pod.
The action pod can also connect remotely, allowing you to preview clips and control the camera even when the Insta360 Go 3 is mounted in a hard-to-reach place.
Insta360 is touting the product's capable software found on its companion iOS or Android app such as Freeframe mode that allow you to change the aspect ratio post-shooting or TimeShift for hyperlapse montages.
The new Insta360 Go 3 is available now on Amazom with either 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage, priced at $379.99, $399.99, and $429.99 respectively.
