A new rumor further confirms that both models of the iPhone 16 Pro will get a battery capacity increase, with one of the pair getting a notably larger boost than the other.
It's been rumored that the iPhone 16 Pro will get a new metal-encased battery. The reasons for this are said to be threefold — potentially better cooling, increased energy density, and a new way to break the glue holding the battery down.
And now, a generally reliable leaker has reiterated one rumor about the iPhone 16 Pro, and reported a new one.
The repeated rumor is that The iPhone 16 Pro Max would jump from 4,441 mAh of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to 4,676 mAh. The new leak is an increase from 3,274 mAh to 3,577 mAh — a bit more than 9%.
It's likely, but not certain, that the higher capacity batteries will contribute to longer device runtime. If the new A18 chip rumored to be in the device drains more power over the iPhone 15 Pro, then that will have an impact.
There haven't been a large number of rumors about the screen, so there probably won't be any giant impact on battery life there.
Regardless, the device is just over a month away, and the rumor mill continues to churn.
