Plugable's new Thunderbolt dock connects 4 displays to your Mac

Plugable Thunderbolt Dock

Plugable's new Thunderbolt Docking Station could be a Mac multitasker's dream, with it capable of driving four displays at the same time.

Thunderbolt docks usually focus on providing more connectivity options for a Mac, but often with the ability to connect one or two displays as well. Plugable's latest release focuses a lot more on the display aspect.

The Thunderbolt Docking Station with DisplayLink, model TBT-6950PD, is a dock that has a pair of HDMI ports for connecting two displays. With the ability to connect two more displays via Thunderbolt, that means it can support up to four 60Hz 4K displays, so long as the connected Mac can handle them.

On an Apple Silicon Mac with a Pro or Max chip, all four displays can be used. For an M3 MacBook Pro, it can support three displays, four in clamshell mode.

There are a total of three downstream Thunderbolt ports, as well as Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 10Gbps ports, an SD card reader, and an audio jack. The separate Thunderbolt port to the host also offers 96 Watts of power delivery, enough for recharging a MacBook Pro.

The Plugable Thunderbolt Docking Station is available from Plugable's website and Amazon, priced at $299.95.

Plugable Triple USB-C Charging Station

Plugable has also introduced its PS3-METERC3 67W Triple USB-C Charging Station. The unit has three high-powered USB-C ports capable of up to 67 Watts of combined output.

It features a front-facing LED display, which will show the corresponding port on the display when devices are connected to it, along with the total power being delivered.

The Plugable Triple USB-C Charging Station is available from Pluggable and Amazon, priced at $34.95.
