Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery review: A great 'just in case' daily carry battery

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery review

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery

3.5 / 5

Baseus' new power bank combines the convenience of MagSafe and the power of fast charging with a built-in USB-C cable.

A MagSafe charger can be a lifesaver when it comes to bringing your phone from the brink of 0% without being tethered to a cable or outlet. Still, there are times when fast charging might be crucial to help your devices get through the day.

The Nomos combines both of these ideas in a portable, yet high-milliamp package.

Baseus has been making consumer tech since 2008, making battery banks, USB-C hubs, and earbuds.

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery - Design

The Nomos comes in simple black or grey colors, complimenting your phone without standing out. The rounded edges and glossy finish creates a clean and minimal aesthetic.

With up to 10,000mAh of capacity in a pocketable form factor, it's easy to store the Nomos away on your person for charging later. Wireless is Qi2 with up to 15W output, and the wired fast charging is up to 45W.

The Nomos has a 3-in-1 design with the USB-C cable, port, and wireless charging, where you can use all three to charge. The USB-C port on the side also supports passthrough charging for those moments the battery is low.

The maximum input for charging the Nomos is 30W, making recharging not much of an issue for most charging bricks.

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery - Use

It fares well in most charging situations, too. The fast-charging cable is reliable, bringing my iPhone 16 Pro from 0 to 30% within 20 minutes.

To make the most of the battery, I'd use the USB-C cable for my iPhone and charge my AirPods with wireless charging. Of course, it also has the convenience of most MagSafe batteries by being a great nightstand and pocket charger.

The glossy back of the Nomos is appealing when you first get it but also tends to track a ton of fingerprints over time, which is expected. The kickstand is nicely functional for portrait and landscape modes, and the cable has a good amount of durability throughout several weeks of use.

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery - A capable hybrid battery to go

For the price, it delivers on both capacity and variety of charging methods. I noticed its size is consistent in comparison to other 10,000mAh batteries as well.

Of course, there's the caveat that if the USB-C cable gets damaged or severed, then you lose the fast charging forever, so handle it with care.

Overall, it delivers on its selling points without deviating from the norm. For something so compact, you can only add so many features without detracting from the experience.

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery Pros

  • Combines wireless and fast charging
  • Pleasing design
  • High capacity

Baseus Nomos MagSafe Battery Cons

  • Built in wire is a liability
  • Potentially bulky, depending on pockets

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Just purchased the Zendure Supermini Q Powerbank on Amazon for $17 with all the same features only slightly smaller and the matte surface doesn't pick up fingerprints. Looks like the 17% off sale is over so it's now $19. It holds on to my iPhone 13 so I can charge it and use it at the same time. I can charge the battery case on USB C and power a USB-A cord at the same time. A great bedside or pocket charger. Looking forward to taking it on our trip to Europe

There are two versions of the item you mentioned "Qi 2" and "15 W Wireless" but I'll be darned if I can figure out the difference (except for the price). You ordered the cheap "Qi 2" one?

Is this true? The product listing says that both the built-in cable and the other USB-C port charge at 45W. So, even if you cut off the cable (for some insane reason), it would still be function as a product that didn't include the cable. Or maybe I misread the listing (it wasn't entirely clear) and the port charges slower than the built-in cable? Can you test that?
