Apple releases first developer betas of iOS 10.3.2, macOS Sierra 10.12.5, watchOS 3.2.2, and tvOS 10.2.1

Last updated

Just a day after an omnibus release spanning all of Apple's operating systems, the company has released beta versions of macOS Sierra 10.12.5, iOS 10.3.2, tvOS 10.2.1, and watchOS 3.2.2 to developers.

No significant release notes accompany the new beta software releases. Given that they aren't full "point" updates, they likely contain only bug fixes and minor revisions to problems introduced with Monday's more major revisions.

The only insight so far on the new Sierra version from Apple is that it "improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac."

As with all the previous betas, the tvOS beta must be installed through a USB-C cable connecting the device to iTunes. The watchOS beta is installed with the watch on the charger, and in range of the paired iPhone.

Registered iOS devices can acquire the beta through the regular upgrade process, or through iTunes. The new Sierra beta can be downloaded as an image through the Apple Developer Center or through Software Update.

It is not clear why iOS and WatchOS have skipped an increment.

The macOS Sierra 10.12.5 beta has build number 16F43c, with iOS 10.3.2 sporting 14F5065b. The tvOS 10.2.1 and watchOS 3.2.2 betas have build number 14W5563b and 14V5465b, respectively.

Monday's releases included iOS 10.3, macOS Sierra 10.12.4, tvOS 10.2, and watchOS 3.2. Notable features for each include Find my Airpods on iOS 10.3, Night Shift on macOS Sierra 10.12.4, Theater Mode on watchOS 3.2, and better device management on tvOS 10.2.

Just as good a place as any to remark that as of today Apple is worth more than Three Quarters of a Trillion Dollars. Eat shit and die Michael Dell.

Looks like 32 bit support has been dropped in iOS 10.3.2. From what I've seen anyway.

iOS 10.3.2 doesn't totally drop 32-bit support for apps -- apps still launch and function normally, albeit with the same warning that was introduced in iOS 10.3.

Major USB issues with this version of macOS. Be warned.
