Apple is teaming up with PBS to bring two well-known Charlie Brown holiday specials to Apple TV+, with additional ad-free airings on PBS and PBS Kids.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang will continue to make their way to Apple TV+ this holiday season, with limited-time free streaming for non-subscribers. "Peanuts" fans can stream "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" in HD starting on November 18 for Apple TV+ subscribers and will be available for free for anyone to watch from November 25 through November 27.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" will also be available for Apple TV+ subscribers starting December 4 and will be available for everyone for free from December 11 through December 13.
The specials will also be available on both PBS and PBS Kids. "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" will air on PBS and PBS KIDS on November 22, at 7:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. central,) and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will air on PBS and PBS KIDS on December 13, at 7:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. central.)
This isn't the first time the "Peanuts" gang has shown up on Apple TV+, either. In fall 2019, Apple debuted "Snoopy in Space," which followed Snoopy as he chased his dream of becoming an astronaut. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" controversially streamed on Apple TV+ for subscribers, and for free for a few days, after decades of it airing on broadcast television.
Apple also has plans to launch a new "Peanuts" spinoff, dubbed "The Snoopy Show," which is set to premiere in early 2021.

Good news indeed!
It will be interesting to see if PBS decides to remove the religious aspects of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and/or decide to include the bits which have been removed from the ABC broadcasts in recent years to reduce the runtime (thereby allowing additional commercials in the time slot).
Either way, my Blu-ray discs have been ripped to my Plex server and are a family tradition.
Good grief.
Ad-free? But part of the charm when I was a kid was the commercial breaks for Dolly Madison baked goods.
