The promotional campaign for Apple TV+ hit "Ted Lasso" is one of only four series nominated at the ICG Publicists Awards.
"Ted Lasso" is nominated for the Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Award, which will be presented at the 59th annual ICG Publicists Awards in March 2022. The organizers have deemed only four campaigns worthy of consideration, instead of its maximum six.
According to Deadline, Sarah Carragher, Apple TV+ Series Publicity Lead, is nominated with her team specifically for the promotion of the first season of "Ted Lasso."
"Though this year has been challenging in so many respects," awards co-chair Tim Menke said, "the four nominated TV publicity campaigns each exemplify the best strategic planning and targeted implementation, delivering vast television viewing audiences."
"Apart from the difficulties that the pandemic has brought to everyone," he continued, "these shows have each overcome specific problems in marketing to rise to the top."
"Ted Lasso" is now in competition with Warner's "Batwoman," season two, Amazon's "The Underground Railroad," and Disney's "WandaVision." The nomination was first spotted by iMore.
Last year's Publicists Guild television winner was the team behind the first season of Disney+ hit "The Mandalorian."
The nomination is the latest of very many honors for "Ted Lasso." Previously it scored a record-breaking 20 nominations at the 73rd Emmys, winning four, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

No surprise here. Apple marketing is near legendary, and this is a demonstration of it in a new segment.
