U.S. sales for the iPhone 14 continue to be strong compared to the 2022 iPhone 13, survey data suggests, with the iPhone 14 Pro Max being the country's top-seller.
The iPhone 14 series is very popular, and it seems to be doing better than the previous generation. In surveys from Wave7 Research summarized by J.P. Morgan, it seems that the iPhone 14 has beaten sales of the iPhone 13.
According to the research, which looked into sales trends across various carriers in February 2023, the overall share for the iPhone 14 series softened relative to peers. It is reckoned that the better traction for the Samsung Galaxy S23 range has helped the South Korean giant regain some ground in the ongoing rivalry.
Overall iPhone share decreased from 69% in January to 62% in February.
However, it appears that, historically speaking, the iPhone 14 is still doing well at this stage in the product cycle. That 62% isn't quite at the same level of the 64% for the iPhone 12 cycle at this point in the year, but it's higher than the 59% share for the iPhone 13 cycle.
Of the models, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the biggest seller, with a 19% share in February. Second place was the iPhone 14 with 18%, the iPhone 14 Pro in third with 13%, and the iPhone 14 Plus rounding out the pack at 7%.
The commentary echoes similar comments made in March following the release of January demand figures. In March's report, the iPhone share dipped from 70% in December to 69% in January. In that report, the iPhone 14 beat both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 cycles, with 67% and 60% respectively.

But there’s another recent article on AI that iPhone 13 was best selling phone in 2022 ?
It’s silly to read much into such small variations.
The iPhone 15’s USB-C port will make it a wild best seller at the end of this physical year (September) and all next year (October 2023 - September 2024).
