Apple TV+ has shared its first trailer for its upcoming "Velveteen Rabbit" film, set to hit the streaming platform on November 22.
"The Velveteen Rabbit" is based on the timeless children's book written by Margery Williams that portrays the power of unconditional love. The story follows 7-year-old William, who receives a new toy as a Christmas gift and discovers a lifelong friend.
The one-off special, written by Tom Bidwell, will stream from November 22, 2023. It features Phoenix Laroche ("The Royal Nanny") as William, Alex Lawther ("Andor") as the Velveteen Rabbit, and Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown," "Harry Potter") as Wise Horse.
Nicola Coughlan ("Bridgerton"), Bethany Antonia ("House of Dragon"), Lois Chimimba ("Still Up"), Paterson Joseph ("Vigil"), Clive Rowe ("So Awkward"), Nathaniel Parker ("The Inspector Lynley Mysteries"), Tilly Vosburgh ("Inside Man"), Samantha Colley ("Genius") and Leonard Buckley ("The Great") round out the cast.
Magic Light Pictures co-founder Martin Pope serves as producer.
"The Velveteen Rabbit" kicks off this year's holiday programming, which also includes a new "Frog And Toad" Christmas special, a new holiday-themed "The Snoopy Show" special, and a "Spirited" sing-along.

“Discovers a lifelong friend?” Not in this book. I read this book when I was a little kid, and hated the ending (the rabbit is burned in a pyre after the child contracts Scarlet Fever.)
