'Flower Moon' director Martin Scorsese honored by Berlin Film Festival

Apple TV+ "Killers of the Flower Moon" director Martin Scorsese has been awarded the prestigious Honorary Golden Bear by the Berlin International Film Festival, which also hosted a feature-length discussion with him.

"Killers of the Flower Moon" by Martin Scorsese and Eric Roth has already had over 200 accolades, including 10 Oscar nominations. Now director and co-writer Scorsese has received the Honorary Golden Bear for his lifetime achievement in film at the Berlinale festival.

While the award was honoring Scorsese's entire body of work, it began with an orchestral performance of the "Flower Moon" score by Robbie Robertson. It was performed to selected scenes from the film.

According to Apple, guests attending the ceremony included Sharon Stone and Faith Akin, plus "Flower Moon" editor Thelma Schoonmaker, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media of Germany Claudia Roth, Karoline Herfurth, Sibel Kekilli, Maria Schrader, Martina Gedeck and Francesca Scorsese.

Alongside his receiving of the award, Scorsese also sat down for an extended interview.

Scorsese follows Steven Spielberg, Isabelle Huppert and Helen Mirren as the latest winners in the award's 74 years.
