Apple TV+ at the Emmys

This year, Apple TV+ has received an impressive 72 nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards. Unsurprisingly, series like "The Morning Show," which has earned Apple Emmys in the past, are leading the pack.

This year, "The Morning Show" has earned itself an admirable sixteen nominations. The series was the first of Apple's to earn an Emmy in 2020.

    Apple's Emmy history

In 2023, Apple TV+ celebrated its highest number of Emmy nominations, although as ever, it's absurdly hard to quantify just how many that is. This is because the Emmys categories allow for Apple TV+ shows, co-productions where it may or may not credit Apple, and commercials for Apple products where, strictly speaking, it's the ad production team that is nominated.

Then, last year, Apple chose not to count its Super Bowl halftime show, even though it received five nominations. Matters are further complicated by how there are multiple Emmy ceremonies, ranging from a craft and technical one to a Children's and Family ceremony, where Apple has previously done well.

However, it's the Emmys announced today that are considered the main ones, the most prestigious of them all. It's the award where "Ted Lasso" consistently won across all the comedy categories, although its final episodes aired outside the eligibility period for the new Emmys.

    Awards Ceremony details
