Misfit launches Phase Hybrid smartwatch, with some Apple Watch-like connectivity

Misfit is advancing its wearables line to compete with the Apple Watch, and has introduced the new Misfit Phase Hybrid Smartwatch using a small color display and watch hand position to alert the user.

Misfit claims that the new Misfit Phase can control music, take pictures with your phone, or advance slides in a presentation, at the touch of a button. As with similar Misfit products, the Misfit Phase automatically updates time, features a six-month battery life, and up to 50 meters of water resistance.

The watch face in conjunction with the hands of the watch, haptic feedback, and a small color window acts in conjunction as a user interface for notifications and feedback. Users can be alerted to activity notifications, alarms, notification data, text, call, app notifications, and movement reminders by the watch.

The body of the device is polished stainless steel, secured by an aluminum shroud. Watchband lugs allow for the user to exchange watchbands with any 20mm field band, including Misfit-designed straps.

The Misfit Phase will be available in six colors on November 7. Retail prices start at $175.
