'Trying' trailer shows adoption issues in British Apple TV+ comedy

Apple has released a trailer for "Trying," an Apple TV+ comedy about the trials and tribulations of a couple who are unable to have a child attempting to convince an adoption panel they are suitable parents.

Originally announced in January, the YouTube trailer for Apple TV 's "Trying" shows off Apple's first attempt at a British television show. A comedy, the show centers around Nikki and Jason, a couple played by Ester Smith and Rafe Spall, who are trying to start a family.

After multiple failed attempts to get pregnant, the couple elect to go through the adoption process, with the show following that journey. Making things harder for the couple is a need to prove their worth to an adoption panel, despite "their dysfunctional friends, screwball family, and chaotic lives" potentially getting in the way.

Along with Smith and Spall, the show features BAFTA award-winner Imelda Staunton, Ophelia Lovibond, and Oliver Chris. Written by Andy Wolton, the show is a joint production of Apple TV+ and BBC Studios.

All episodes of Trying will be available to watch on May 1 via the Apple TV app as part of the Apple TV+ subscription.
