Kia has announced that the first 1,500 buyers of its upcoming 2022 EV6 First Edition electric vehicle will receive a free Apple Watch or another gift.

According to the automaker, the Apple wearable will help new Kia EV6 owners take advantage of the Kia Connect services bundled with each car. If a buyer already has an Apple Watch, they can opt for an at-home EV charger or EV charging credits that can be used at a national charging network, CNET reported Thursday.

Buyers of an EV6 First Edition can get the special offer with a $100 refundable deposit.

When paired with an Apple Watch, Kia EV6 owners will be able to use the Kia Connect app to remotely start or stop charging on their vehicle, see battery usage, check the charging status, and more.

The EV6 First Edition also sports the features available in the standard trim, along with upgrades like an augmented reality heads-up display, remote Smart Park functionality, and three exclusive color combinations.

Kia's latest electric vehicle also packs a 77.4 kilowatt-hour battery with a dual-motor AWD drivetrain.

The EV6 is also the first Kia vehicle to be built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform. Earlier in 2021, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the "Apple Car" would be based on the platform. However, that was during negotiations between Kia and Apple, which have since fizzled out.

Reservations for the Kia EV6 First Edition start on June 3. The automaker expects to deliver the first models during the first quarter of 2022.

Have to say...the EV6 is one of the better looking all-electric designs from a mainstream car manufacturer. It definitely has some influence from Tesla and Porsche.

Have you see the ($100,000) Audi?  That's a sharp looking car.

Heh - and how the Lucid Air kind of looks like a late model Honda with the corner creases and flat nose!

This reminds me to check if the MyChevrolet watch app has been improved in the last update. It kept signing out on me previously making it kind of useless!

Amazing they are not giving out some Samsung gizmo, being from S.Korea and all.
