Apple has released its latest Inclusion and Diversity report, showing that the company saw increases in employment among people in underrepresented communities.

The new data covers the time period between 2014 and 2021. Between then, Apple saw an 87% increase in female employees across the globe. All in all, in the seven year-period, Apple's female workforce increased by 89%.

In 2014, 70% of Apple employees were male, while 30% were female. The new data from 2021 indicates that 65.2% of Apple staffers are male, while 34.8% are female.

Additionally, Apple filled a combined 25% of its leadership roles in the U.S. and Black and Latinx candidates. When it came to retail leadership positions specifically, that number reached 41% in 2021.

In a tweet on Thursday, Apple CEO Tim Cook touted the new diversity and inclusion numbers, stating that the company is "proud of the progress" that it has made.

Apple last updated its diversity and inclusion numbers in March 2021, showing off similar gains in its increasingly diverse workforce.
