Apple TV+ getting new 'Born to be Wild' & 'Endangered Planet' nature docuseries

Apple TV+

Upcoming Apple TV+ docuseries "Born to be Wild" and "Endangered Planet" will give audiences a new look into the lives of some of the rarest animals on earth.

"Born to be Wild" follows six rare young animals for several years as they are raised in captivity to ultimately be re-released into the wild. The hope is that the animals will be crucial players in helping to save their species.

Species profiled in the six-part series include African penguins, cheetahs, Iberian lynx, moon bears, ring-tailed lemurs, and Savana elephants.

The series is executive produced by Lucy van Beek, who also worked on "Wild Tales from the Farm," and Stephen Hawking's "The Search for a New Earth." It also marks Apple's first collaboration with Tailfeather Productions and its latest collaboration with Offspring Films.

"Endangered Planet" follows filmmakers as they capture groundbreaking — and often first- time footage of the planet's most elusive creatures. This six-part series features animals such as the Caucasian leopard, Cross River gorilla, Gobi bear, Javan rhino, Malayan tiger, and North Atlantic right whale.

"Endangered Planet" is executive produced by IDA Award nominee Alex Williamson and Isla Robertson, who both also worked on Apple TV+ hit "Earth At Night In Color."

"Born to be Wild" and "Endangered Planet" join Apple TV+'s growing slate of documentaries, including "Prehistoric Planet" "Tiny World" and "The Elephant Queen."
