Apple redesigns Workshops scheduling system in minor website update

Apple on Tuesday rolled out a small change to its newly integrated website, allowing customers to easily browse and schedule Workshop appointments with in-store staff at participating brick-and-mortar stores.

Still handled under the "Concierge" banner, which came into being in 2005, Apple's new Workshops selector tool is similar to its Genius Bar reservations system in both form and function.

Users can access the newly implemented subsystem from any retail store webpage under "Store Services" which, depending on the location, includes Genius Bar, Workshops, One to One and Joint Venture options. Workshops are now broken down into distinct sections, with "Featured" workshops headlining a list of product-specific lessons arranged into "Discover," "Organize," "Create" and "Business" categories. For example, workshops from the "Discover" category include Apple Watch and iCloud Basics, while "Create" meetings cover content production apps like Photos, Keynote, Pages and more.

Appointments times are laid out in line with the Workshops browser, meaning customers can search for and schedule a reservation from a single page. The browsing and scheduling process previously involved multiple steps across numerous information submittal pages.

Today's modification is part of a larger initiative to fully integrate Apple's online product research and retail sales assets into a cohesive website, an effort started earlier this month.
