Apple has increased production of the Apple Watch Series 6 and Wi-Fi iPad series amidst growing U.S.-China tensions.
Manufacturers tapped included Luxshare Precision Industry for the Apple Watch Series 6 and BYD for the new iPad.
Foxconn and Compal Electronics are still primary suppliers for the new products, though according to industry sources, Apple will likely shift more orders to Luxshare and BYD.
According to DigiTimes, Apple has ramped up production in China to satisfy China's domestic demand in response to US-China trade tensions. Outside of Chinese markets, Apple will use Taiwanese makers to start establishing production centers outside of China.
Apple has recently announced the launch of the Apple Watch Series 6, the Apple Watch SE, a new eighth-generation 10.2-inch iPad, and an upcoming fourth-generation iPad Air. The forthcoming "iPhone 12" is expected to be announced in October.
While Apple has battled a hostile market brought about by the Trump Administration's ongoing trade war with China, the company attempts to remain amicable with the country. Even throughout the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Apple's share of China's smartphone market has grown by over ten percent.
