Beats and Psychworld launch limited-edition Studio3 Wireless headphones

The Psychworld edition of Beats Studio3 Wireless launch on April 22

Apple's Beats by Dre is collaborating with streetwear brand Psychworld on a special edition of the Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones.

The special-edition headphones include a neon-green "digi-camo print" design with a Psychworld logo on the headband.

The headphones launch on Psychworld's website on April 22 at noon eastern time. The product announcement didn't list a price, but the standard Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones cost $349.95.

Psychworld is a secretive and relatively new streetwear brand that rocketed to stardom thanks to Instagram promotions from hip-hop icons like Drake, Lil Yachty, and Skepta. That celebrity brand-building led to the label quickly selling out of its debut product, a $128 hoodie. It's is the creation of Zack Bia, a DJ, fashion influencer, and friend of Drake.

"This project with Beats has been in the works for awhile, and we're thrilled to be able to finally reveal it to everyone," the creators of Psychworld said in the Beats announcement. "We're so inspired by music, and so it's been amazing to partner with Beats as well as one of our favorite artists who truly embodies what Psychworld is about."

Apart from the exterior design, the headphones appear to be the same as all other Beats Studio3 Wireless variants. The over-ear Bluetooth headphones have active noise-cancelling (ANC) and Apple's W1 chip for easy pairing.

In AppleInsider's 2017 review of the headphones, we praised its solid wireless connection, battery life, and "good" sound. However, the headphones are now more than three years old and have competition with newer technology from the likes of Apple's AirPods Max, Sony WH-1000XM4, Bose 700, and Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless.

Yeah, this will appeal to the 10 - 18 year old male whatever "secretive" demographic you want to throw them in...
When these have had their relevant run, say maybe a year, year and a half at best, how many actually were sold, a couple of hundred pairs?

Own the Beats studio 3 wireless. Not exactly impressive hifi sound. (Being very polite). Bought them for the connectivity, but Apple could do better wrt seamless experience and controls on Mac and iPhone.
