We round up the initial reviews for M2 MacBook Air, discuss the first public betas, highlight features like Continuity Camera, and discuss the rumored Apple Watch Pro, all on the AppleInsider podcast.
iOS 16 public beta and M2 MacBook Air reviews on the AppleInsider Podcast
Reviews are piling in about the M2 MacBook Air, and it is exactly the computer we hoped it would be. The new Midnight color may be prone to fingerprints and dings, but we'd still buy the finish in a heartbeat if it arrived on a pro model.
The naming scheme surrounding Apple's products has always seemed somewhat random. Adding "pro" to a device name doesn't seem to make it more pro, just more expensive in some cases. We try to figure out what would make an Apple Watch a pro device, and if Apple would pursue that naming convention anyway.
Next, we discuss the new public betas and pontificate who may want to install a public beta. While it is still a risky practice we wouldn't recommend for the faint of heart, it is still a fun way to try new features. Although, there doesn't seem to be any reason to install a HomePod mini beta.
Finally, we wish for a future where Apple makes routers again as choosing a router still isn't as simple as it should be. Despite promises of HomeKit router support from Linksys and others, it still hasn't arrived for some models. An Apple-made router would take the guesswork out of setting up a network.
