Apple TV+ wins five Creative Arts Emmys

"Schmigadoon!" and "Severance" lead the five Creative Arts Emmys wins for Apple TV+, but "Ted Lasso" fails to win any of its 11 nominations.

A year after Apple TV+ scored seven wins at the 2021 Creative Arts Emmys, it has nabbed a further five in the 2022 ceremony over the weekend of September 3 and September 4.

Hit drama "Severance" did best, taking the awards for both Outstanding Main Title Design, and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. The latter went to Theodore Shapiro for the music in the show's first season finale, "The We We Are."

"Schmigadoon!," Apple's loving pastiche of musical movies, won Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. That was for "Corn Puddin'," from the show's pilot episode.

Outstanding Motion Design was won by Apple's "Home Before Dark" mystery drama. And "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" took home the award for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series.

Unusually, "Ted Lasso" did not win any of its 11 nominations. Overall, Apple TV+ had 34 nominations for these creative awards.

This year the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony was screened in two parts, and there is also a Primetime Emmy ceremony to come. That's on September 12, 2022 and Apple has been nominated for 52 awards, with "Ted Lasso" getting 20.
