Apple Developer Center Singapore offers sessions, labs, and workshops to devs across the region

Apple recently launched its first Developer Center in Singapore, which will provide customized resources and expert guidance to the region's diverse app development community.

The center aims to support Southeast Asia's thriving developer community, which has contributed to over 90,000 apps on the App Store. This initiative is meant to offer developers in the region access to Apple experts and resources, enabling them to learn about the latest technologies and improve their apps and games.

The Developer Center is situated in Singapore's innovation hub, the one-north district, and joins the existing Developer Centers in Cupertino, Bengaluru, and Shanghai.

Tailored for teams at all stages of app development, the Apple Developer Center Singapore will serve as a hub for in-person sessions, labs, workshops, and consultations. Developers can enhance their skills across multiple platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.

Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, Susan Prescott, expressed her excitement about the center's potential to empower local developers, drive innovation, and enhance user experiences.

The launch builds on the success of the iOS Conf SG event organized by the Singapore-based iOS Dev Scout community group since 2014. Vina Rianti, lead for iOS Dev Scout, lauded the center's proximity, anticipating a leap forward in developers' skills with direct access to Apple experts and a robust program of in-person activities.

In 2019, Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Singapore to meet with students and developers in the region.

In June 2023, Singapore was one of six worldwide locations to host in-person developer labs relating to the Apple Vision Pro.
