Assets in iOS 17.5 unveil new Beats Pill, hint at imminent release

Beats Pill

New assets found within the release candidate for iOS 17.5 show three colors of the yet-unreleased new Beats Pill, suggesting that the device is nearing release.

Beats is currently in the process of updating its personal audio collection, which includes the Beats Solo 4 and Beats Solo Buds. While it has not yet made an official announcement, a new Beats Pill speaker appears on the horizon.

On Tuesday, AppleInsider found evidence of an unreleased Beats Pill in the assets within iOS 17.5 RC. Multiple images showcasing a black, gold, and red Beats Pill were found.

It is likely that any new Beats speaker will have a USB-C port, the latest Bluetooth technology, and updated sound and design. However, since the company has not acknowledged the new Beats Pill, pricing and release date remain unknown.

This isn't the first time we've seen the new Beats Pill, either. It was first spotted in April when NBA superstar LeBron James was seen carrying it at a playoff game in Denver.

In May, a shot posted to Instagram showed F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo in Miami holding a Beats speaker by an attached lanyard.
