Apple's iCloud for Windows users can't get the latest Windows 10 update because of nasty bug

Microsoft is actively preventing users of Apple's iCloud for Windows tool from updating Windows 10 to the latest build, with a new warning for version 1809 of the Microsoft operating system advising the iCloud software is not currently supported.

Analysts and commentators who spent the first half of 2018 insisting that Apple's $999 iPhone X was suffering from "disappointing" sales because of its premium price, a supposed "lack of innovation," and controversial design choices that included a camera "notch" are now telling us that Chinese companies that struggled to profit from high volumes of cheap phones will now successfully sell expensive models with an imitative notch.

Across the last couple years, Apple's new Macs have been roundly criticized for raising their prices using flashy -- rather than purely utilitarian-- new features like the Touch Bar, while delivering only incremental improvements in performance due to a reliance on Intel's processors. Yet when Microsoft follows the same playbook, suddenly high prices are reasonable, flashy but unnecessary features are a sign of innovation, and big performance gains aren't really necessary.
