Apple TV owners can now update to tvOS 17.5

C'mon guys! No mention of what features or fixes are in the update, the link to 17.5 takes you to an AppleInsider page just talking about TvOS17 in general, and there's no link to the apple.com site with the update.  A completely worthless article other than a PSA to update if you want.

The article explicitly states that there are no publicly-facing notes of interest. If you look at the other Apple software releases today it's basically the same thing across the board: bug fixes and security enhancements from this update. And if you've owned Apple devices for more than a year, you'll know what Apple's release notes for this kind of update are like: devoid of detail.

It's clear that Apple has moved on and put these all in maintenance mode. All of their efforts are being poured into the new versions that will be previewed next month at Apple WWDC.

I would expect a couple more point releases strictly for fixing bugs and patching security holes but iOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma, et al are done getting new functionality.

More of the same. Nothing new. ATV is going nowhere and still is a hobby project for Apple. So much potential, but nothing happens. Time to move on and skip ATV altogether as it gets no love from Apple.
