Apple's Lisa Jackson, Arnold Schwarzenegger talk climate action

Apple senior vice president Lisa Jackson attended the Austrian World Summit to speak with organizer Arnold Schwarzenegger about combating climate change and Apple's environmental progress.
The Austrian World Summit, organized by the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, saw Schwarzenegger speak to guests from the corporate and government worlds about combating climate change. At one point on Thursday, the actor and former California governor spoke to Jackson, Apple's SVP of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives, about the company's environmental goals and progress.

As reported by German-language site Macerkopf, Jackson touted the Cupertino tech giant's existing environmental initiatives and its progress so far.
"Apple is already carbon neutral today and we have committed to making our entire supply chain and product use carbon neutral by 2030. To address the global problem of climate change, companies need to demonstrate that climate neutrality is possible and work with governments to achieve systemic change," Jackson said.
Other speakers at the summit included German Chancellor Angela Merkel, IKEA Austria CFO Rodolphe de Campos, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Josh Kerry, and climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Apple has long touted its environmental focus. Each year, it releases an Environmental Progress Report detailing its sustainability initiatives. Jackson also frequently takes part in environmental projects and endeavors. Earlier in 2021, she joined the Time 2030 Committee with a focus on combating climate change.
The Cupertino tech giant also announced in March that 110 of its global supply chain partners would switch to 100% renewable, part of its goal to become entirely carbon neutral by 2030.

That’s the second photo from this event where he’s got his hands on her. Creepy.
Madness. The climate changes. It always has. It always will. Actions by Apple and other companies will have an effect but it is negligible and not predictable. If you want to do something about climate change, come up with some serious plans for how to adapt to it. Design some more efficient desalination plants. Put some money into fusion power research. Create new propane generators that can be throttled to produce more power when needed and not waste energy when idle. That would have a far larger benefit to humanity and the planet.
