Apple isn't going to release any additional products in 2022 with a mini LED screen, according to well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Kuo reiterated a previous prediction that Apple wouldn't launch new mini LED products due to "cost concerns." In his latest forecast, Kuo clarified that he means there won't be additional products with a new display size in 2022.
Put another way, Apple may release refreshes of its existing mini LED products, such as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, it won't debut new mini LED devices like an 11-inch variant.
Previously, Kuo said that he expected Apple to release an 11-inch iPad Pro with a mini LED display in 2022.
Kuo's updated forecast lines up with other analysts watching Apple's display moves. Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, who has a good track record of accurate predictions, agrees with the assumption that no new mini LED devices are arriving in 2022.
In a report earlier in March, Young said that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro was "doing really well," and added that Apple wouldn't need to add a mini LED 11-inch model.
However, Young and Kuo part ways on rumors of a 27-inch mini LED-equipped Apple Mac display. Kuo said the mini LED monitor isn't coming, while Young says panel production on the accessory has already begun and he is still expecting a debut in 2022.

iPad aside, isn’t what Ross Young is talking about just an update/upgrade of the Pro Display XDR? So not really new, just better, more-mature tech. Usually also means a price improvement, but with all that’s going on in the world probably that isn’t happening.
I think at this point, this guy is trying to get in the news everyday. Just whatever about an Apple product and all the Apple sites pick it up.. and the "news" agencies that watch those sites pick it up.
Step 1. Say something about an Apple product
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Profit
Shock, horror…
