The latest drone footage of Apple's new headquarters under construction taken on Christmas day shows much of the heavy equipment gone, with the entire site's landscaping being developed on a larger scale than previously seen.

While a company move-in date has not yet been established, the latest drone flight footage from the construction site shows a near-complete solar installation on several structures including the main headquarters, and depicts the largest carbon fiber roof in the world on the auditorium.

Phase 2 of Apple's ambitious Campus 2 construction project is now well underway, with new testing workshops and facilities rising for research and development large enough for vehicle-size innovation work. Located between Phase 2 and the main "Spaceship Ring," Apple's new subterranean Theater and Visitor Center is also nearly complete.

Speaking to shareholders at the company's Annual Meeting on Friday, Apple's chief executive Tim Cook joked that he kept himself up to date on the progress of his Campus 2 "Spaceship" project by watching drone videos posted on the Internet. Apple's Campus 2 mega-project continues to progress on its "Spaceship" Ring, where concrete panels are filling out a floor. Tunnels that will connect to parking garages are emerging, the first parking structure is getting its finishing steps before the installation of solar panels.

Apple's Campus 2 mega-project is showing major progress in its "Spaceship" Ring, where interlocking concrete slabs are building a foundation for a steel structure that is already beginning to reach upward by four stories. The first massive parking garage is nearly finished and existing buildings have been demolished to make room for a second stage R&D site.

In yesterday's keynote, Apple's software chief Craig Federighi joked about rumors of the new Apple Campus 2 being an actual spaceship capable of literally taking off. The project is, however, figuratively taking off, with incredible progress visible over just the last month, evident particularly in the parking structures now under construction.
