Aggressively staking its claim as the lone company outside of Apple selling Mac OS X systems, Psystar on Thursday has unveiled a pair of Xserve-like rackmount computers unofficially based on Apple's Mac OS X Leopard Server.
Alongside new Mac Pros, Apple on Tuesday also introduced the new Xserve, a 1U rack-optimized server that the company claims is up to twice as fast as its predecessor and includes an unlimited client license for Mac OS X Server Leopard.
Exhibiting at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week, Intel Corp formally unveiled 16 new microprocessors based on the company's 45-nanometer (nm) manufacturing process, several of which are expected to turn up in products from Apple Inc. over the next several months.
