AT&T Wireless launches free iPhone 8 promotion

AT&T Wireless is dropping the price of the iPhone 8 by $20 per month, making it free on AT&T Next with a qualifying plan. With the iPhone 8 supporting Apple's upcoming iOS 13, this is a great way to scoop up a highly capable phone without forking over a lot of cash.

This iPhone 8 offer, which is available online only, is available in all three finishes at AT&T Wireless. Normally priced at $600 with no contract or $20 per month with AT&T Next, the 64GB iPhone 8 is now free after credits over 30 months with an installment plan and eligible AT&T unlimited service plan. A $30 activation fee and other terms apply, but if you're looking for a cheap iPhone and have AT&T coverage in your area, it's a great way to save hundreds of dollars on a device that's capable of running Apple's upcoming iOS 13.

To put AT&T's iPhone deal in perspective, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile are currently charging $25 per month for the same device, while Sprint is charging $8 per month for 18 months with the option to buy it outright at month 19 via a lump sum or six additional payments. At press time, this AT&T deal is the most aggressive offer available from a major carrier.

Looking for other models? AT&T is offering bill credits on the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max and more.
