Master & Dynamic launches MW75 with 32 hour battery life & adaptive ANC

MW75 by Master & Dynamic

Last updated

Master & Dynamic has launched its latest flagship set of over-ear headphones, the MW75. It boasts incredible specs with up to 28 hours of battery life and environmentally-aware adaptive ANC.

The MW75 features aluminum earcups with soft memory foam wrapped in supple lambskin leather. Each earcup is inlaid with tempered glass to complete the refined silhouette.

"As with all our ANC products, we set out to create a headphone with polished, intentional design and Active Noise-Cancellation that does not detract from the overall sound experience, but enhances it. With the MW75, you can go anywhere and hear your music as it was intended to sound," said Master & Dynamic Founder & CEO Jonathan Levine.

You can choose between three modes of active noise cancellation that use four of the eight onboard microphones. Adaptive ANC will adjust based on your surroundings and can help maximize battery life.

Speaking of which, the MW75 can play tunes for up to 32 hours with ANC turned off and an equally-as-impressive 28 hours with ANC enabled. All music is pumped through the custom 40mm Beryllium drivers.

You're able to adjust the ANC mode and tune the audio to your liking using the free M&D Connect app. The app also helps perform firmware updates in the future.

The headphones can fast charge, yielding 6 hours of playtime with only a 15-minute charge. They connect over Bluetooth 5.1 with a 100ft range. The felt carrying case includes a USB-C cable, USB-C to 3.5mm cable, quarter-inch adapter, and a twin airline adapter.

You're able to order the all-new MW75 on June 28 for $599 and they will be available in Gunmetal/Black Leather, Silver Metal/Grey/Leather, Silver Metal/Brown Leather, and Black Metal/Black Leather.

I’ve been obsessed with getting the MW65’s since trying out my brother’s a few weeks back. When I first saw these, my initial reaction was that the MW65 design was much better. They’re starting to grow on me, though. Now I just have to decide if the extra $100 dollars and the extra 100 grams weight difference is worth an extra ANC mode, the 2 ambient modes, on/off detection, and the app/equalizer support.

Better design how, exactly? Looks (subjective), build quality? I get that some people like the faux open back look. It has a vintage appeal, though not as nice as the MH40s (subjective, yes). The minimalist design of the 75s might be a little too little for some people.

I hope there's a review headed our way soon. The 50+ M&Ds had BT 4.x so I'm wondering what kind of range is afforded by BT 5.1.

Yes, it’s just my subjective opinion that the 65s look better. Maybe it’s the retro aviation look, but if they both had the same features, those are the ones I’d go with. The new ones look very similar to the M&D gaming headphones, imo. Now I just have to decide if the 75s are worth the trade offs in price and design preference for the new features. I’ve already decided that I’m getting a pair either way right after upgrade season is over, probably around the holidays. So, maybe by then the 75s will have grown enough on me. If not, I expect the 65s will be very attractively priced by then.

I can’t wait for the review either. I guarantee Andrew will be all over it.
