In this video, I break down the latest developments in the ongoing patent dispute between Apple and medical tech company Massimo that forced Apple to disable SpO2 functionality on new Apple Watch models.Apple removed blood oxygen tracking from the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 in the U.S. back in January 2024 after the ITC ruled in favor of Massimo. Since then, even the newly released Apple Watch Series 10 and black Ultra 2 have launched without the feature—despite having the necessary hardware.So what's going on now? From a change in Massimo leadership to Apple's July 2025 appeal to overturn the ban, we walk through the full timeline and explore what could happen next. Will Apple settle?
