Ecoxgear shows EcoJump iPhone-connected car jump starter, EcoBump emergency battery

Battery and charging company Ecoxgear has launched a pair of emergency power accessories, and has revealed the EcoJump iPhone-connected car jump starter, and the EcoBump 900mAh emergency phone charger.

EcoJump car jump starter

The EcoJump Bluetooth Low Energy-enabled jump starter contains a battery that can deliver 800 peak amps to a car, and will work "any 6.0-liter gas and diesel engine, including cars, trucks, boats and motorcycles" according to the company.

Additional EcoJump features include a 300 lumen flashlight, a strobing hazard light, and a pair of USB ports for mobile device charging. The EcoJump supports 2.4A USB charging of the integral 12,000 mAh battery.

The iOS application for the EcoJump shows the charge status of the device, and allows the user to customize notifications on battery level, battery temperature, and frequency of reminders.

The EcoJump jump starter will be available in March for $149.99.

EcoBump emergency phone charger

Rather than a rechargeable battery pack that quickly loses charge, the EcoBump is a static device that comes pre-charged and retains its power for five years or more and is tailored for emergency kits. The non-rechargeable battery supplies 900 mAh of power, providing up to seven hours of emergency talk time.

The EcoBump is FAA approved for airline travel and comes complete with a waterproof cap.

Three versions of the EcoBump will be available in March for $14.99, supporting Lightning, Micro-USB, and USB-C smartphones.

I predict the phone chargers will be a hit. At that price point, 5 year shelf life, and 7 hours talk time, there is every many folks will buy one to put in their "in case of power outage kit".
