The AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac provides global repair coverage — covering both parts & labor — from Apple-authorized technicians around the world. Depending on your geographic location, you'll have the following options in the event your Mac needs a hardware repair:

- Mail-in repair for portable computers and Apple displays: Mail in your Mac or Apple display using a prepaid shipping box provided by Apple
- Carry-in repair: Take your Mac or Apple display to an Apple Retail Store or other Apple Authorized Service Provider

When should you buy AppleCare and how much should you pay?
You must purchase and register the Plan while your Mac is within Apple’s One Year Limited warranty. However, Apple Authorized Resellers often offer compelling incentives for customers to purchase their plans at the same time they purchase their Mac.
AppleCare+ is available for all modern Macs and gets you get up to three years of coverage.
