Apple TV+ has announced a new — and currently untitled — comedy-adventure series that will star Noel Fielding as legendary British highwayman Dick Turpin.
The untitled series will feature Fielding, known for "The Great British Bake Off" and "The Mighty Boosh," as Dick Turpin. Turpin was an actual English highwayman whose exploits have been romanticized over the decades.
"In this irreverent retelling, Dick is the most famous, but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair," Apple wrote of the series. "Together with his gang of loveable rogues, Dick rides the highs and lows of celebrity — and does what he can to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker General."
The series is being produced by Big Talk Productions. It will be written and created by Claire Downes, Stuart Lane, and Ian Jarvism, and directed by Ben Palmer. Fielding and Jeremy Dyson will serve as script consultants, while Kenton Allen, Fielding, Victoria Grew, Matthew Justice, and Palmer will serve as executive producers.
Apple TV+ has a growing slate of award-winning and critical acclaimed comedy series, which includes some of the shows and movies that the service is best known for. The slate includes "Ted Lasso," "The Afterparty," "Dickinson," and "Mythic Quest."

So... "Our Flag Means Death" but set on land, in England?
IMHO Noel Fielding can be hit or miss, but he has a certain charm and will probably bring his own wardrobe (or steal the items from the set).
He was hilarious in The IT Crowd. Hope this one is good too.
