Studio Display firmware gets updated third developer beta

Apple has released an updated third Studio Display firmware beta for version 17.

Users with the macOS Sonoma beta installed on a Mac connected to the Studio Display will get prompted to install the monitor's updated third beta for version 17. It seems these betas were released to prepare for upcoming public betas, but Apple has not provided an official reason or details.

The contents of the latest Studio Display firmware update are unknown, but it may contain bug fixes, security patches, or performance improvements. Likely, the build will match whatever public beta is released in the coming days.

The build for the update is 21A5277j, up from build 21A5277h. The previous beta 3 update was released on July 5.

Studio Display owners who are beta users can update their firmware by heading to System Settings on their Mac. Click on General, then , to see if the beta is available. Installing the update should only take moments and will require a brief restart.

Whatever happened to the crappy video from the camera?  Was that ever resolved?

I’d like to know about the status of that video camera, too. The deafening silence so far isn’t encouraging.
