Apple offers a sneak peek into new developer channel with YouTube trailer

Apple releases trailer for developer channel

Apple's new developer channel on YouTube has released a short video promoting developing for Apple platforms ahead of its Worldwide Developer Conference.

The company officially launched its Developer YouTube channel on March 26, marking a significant expansion in its outreach to the developer community. The move allows Apple to harness the widespread accessibility and popularity of YouTube and broaden the reach of its World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) sessions.

The channel has a selection of 40 videos from WWDC 2023 and will include upcoming sessions from WWDC 2024 starting June 10. The selection of videos is identical to what is found in the Developer app, but more accessible for YouTube users.

Traditionally, WWDC has been Apple's event to unveil its latest updates to operating systems and, sometimes, new hardware. The video acts as a promotion for the idea of developing for Apple platforms.

The YouTube channel is expected to serve as a repository of sessions normally restricted to the Developer app. From in-depth tutorials to keynote speeches, the channel will provide valuable insights into Apple's ecosystem, aiding developers in their quests to create innovative apps.

WWDC 2024 will reveal Apple's changes for iOS 18, macOS 15, and the rest of the operating systems. Apple is also expected to announce its strategy for AI.
