Accessory makers have seemingly decided that the new iPhone model will be the iPhone 17 Air, but there's no guarantee that they have got it right.
Apple's iPhone 17 range will differ from previous years because of a big change to one model. The Plus is being replaced by a similar but much thinner model, which is believed to be called the iPhone 17 Air, or possibly the iPhone 17 Slim.
While there have been many rumors about the device, the general consensus seems to believe "Air" is the right answer. This also apparently extends to products heading to retailers.
An image shared on X by @FrigidJW on Tuesday appears to be a spreadsheet titled "All 2025 iPhone Accessories." It appears to be something a manufacturer, supplier, or retailer would use to manage accessory orders before Apple's September launch.
Little iPhone leak at work today. 17 air is for sure in the next round of iPhones :) pic.twitter.com/Jn6FqgxobG

The sheet includes listings for product categories, including Screen Protectors and Cases, as well as longer item descriptions. It also includes which phone model each accessory will fit.
The list includes the almost-certain models, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, it also includes two lines for the iPhone 17 Air.
Never guaranteed
If the image is legitimate, this means at least one accessory producer has settled on using the Air version of the name, and not the competing Slim.
However, the image stems from an account that's not known for rumors or leaks, and there's a possibility of it being fabricated. We have no way of knowing if it is real or fake.
There's also no guarantee at all that the iPhone 17 Air will be the actual name for the device. Regardless of whether its two listings or two thousand listings on a retailer's iPhone accessory spreadsheet, it could still be wrong.
The only company that truly knows the name of the smartphone is Apple. The rest of the world outside its supply chain will only find out if the Air name is right when Apple actually launches the device in September.
At the very least, the spreadsheet confirms that there will be accessories for the iPhone 17 at launch. Given that the iPhone helped spawn an entire accessory industry, and that accessories have gone on sale to capitalize on the launch for quite a few years, it's something that we already know about.
Other rumors about the iPhone 17 Air include the use of a new battery, an upgraded display, and the use of a binned A19 Pro chip, among others.
