After three years, Apple has finally updated its budget-friendly Apple Watch SE with the S10 chip, new health features, and 18 hour battery life.
The Apple Watch SE line has maintained a low starting price and limited feature set for those that want to dabble with Apple's wearable, but without spending flagship money. It has also proven to be an excellent option for children or elderly users that just need the basic features of an Apple Watch.
Apple Watch SE 3 continues the tradition of recycling old device case design to help keep the price low. Instead of a new design, Apple focused on making the feature set more modern.
The S10 chipset enables many features that were missing from the Apple Watch SE 2. Double Tap and Wrist Flick are both now available, for example.
Users also get access to wrist temperature sensing. This feature can help people that ovulate track their cycles with updates after sleeping while wearing Apple Watch.
Apple also included 5G capabilities in the Apple Watch SE 3.
Sleep apnea detection and the new Sleep Score are also available. Fast charging is also an option, so the Apple Watch can charge at 2x the speed.
Apple Watch SE 3 is available in Starlight and Midnight colors. It can be pre-ordered Tuesday after the keynote and starts at $249.
