Following the launch of its new iPhone 17 range and AirPods Pro 3, Apple has revealed it will be releasing iOS 26, macOS Tahoe, visionOS 26 and more on September 15.
Tuesday was a busy one for Apple, with the launch of new models of iPhone 17, including the iPhone Air, refreshes to the Apple Watch line, and the new AirPods Pro 3. However, its announcements also indicated when its operating systems are coming.
The press releases for its new products, as well as the OS preview pages on the Apple website, indicate that its operating systems will all update on September 15. All a few days before its product launches.
This includes the release of iOS 26 as well as iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, visionOS 26, and tvOS 26.
For 2025, the updates are headlined by a change in numbering so that all of the operating systems have the same version number to minimize confusion.
Another cross-OS change is the user interface, with the introduction of Liquid Glass. The UI aesthetic uses transparency and light refractions alongside many usability tweaks to Apple's first-party apps.
Developers and public beta testers have already been trying out the new operating systems for some time, starting with the first developer beta released for WWDC.
