On the latest HomeKit Insider Podcast episode, we revisit the iPhone 17 event, review two new smart home gadgets, and more.

Guest host on this week's episode is Faith O'Hara, Andrew's better half. We get her take on all the new releases and some smart home devices she can't live without.

Also in this week's launches was the new Owlet Dream Sight camera. This new model goes from 1080P to 2K, supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networking, and more.

It's much more reliable than its predecessor, though it doesn't support Apple Home. Perhaps it can be added down the line as Owlet has promised to future-proof the camera.

In other news, Avia released its first window sash fastener. It is triggered whenever the door fastener is unlocked.

It supports Apple Home and communicates via Bluetooth low energy. It's a first of its kind, though its overall size seems bulky.

We wrap the episode by talking about the previously released Govee Tree Floor Lamp. Faith loves the design and the wealth of supported colors.
