Satechi has unveiled its first Thunderbolt 5 docking station at CES 2026, introducing a cube-shaped desktop hub with an integrated NVMe SSD enclosure.

The Thunderbolt 5 CubeDock expands Satechi's desktop accessory lineup and marks the company's first product built around Intel's latest high-bandwidth docking standard. The dock is part of a broader CES 2026 push that also includes a new Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable, with additional office accessories planned later in the year.

While not Mac-exclusive, the CubeDock is designed to align closely with modern Apple Silicon workflows. Satechi highlights native macOS support for high-resolution displays and power delivery without relying on DisplayLink software.

Thunderbolt 5 arrives in a compact desktop dock

The CubeDock is built on Intel's Thunderbolt 5 technology, offering an 80Gbps bi-directional baseline. It also supports Thunderbolt's Bandwidth Boost feature, which can dynamically shift bandwidth toward display output for monitor-heavy setups.

Satechi says the dock supports multiple external displays depending on the host system. On Apple Silicon Macs, the company claims support for dual 6K displays at 60Hz on M3, M4, and M5 systems, using native Thunderbolt connections.

Ports and integrated NVMe storage

The CubeDock includes three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, along with 10Gbps USB-C and USB-A ports. Additional connectivity includes UHS-II SD and microSD card readers and 2.5Gb Ethernet.

An integrated NVMe SSD enclosure supports PCIe 4x4 drives up to 8TB. Satechi rates the enclosure for speeds up to 6,000MB/s and says active cooling helps maintain performance during sustained transfers.

High-wattage power delivery

The dock features a built-in 180W power supply, with up to 140W available for host charging over Thunderbolt 5. An additional 30W of USB Power Delivery is reserved for connected accessories.

That charging capacity aligns with the higher-wattage USB-C charging supported by Apple's latest MacBook Pro models, allowing sustained performance under heavier workloads.

Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable launches alongside the dock

Alongside the CubeDock, Satechi is launching a Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable rated for up to 240W of power delivery. The cable supports high-resolution and high-refresh displays and remains backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, and USB-C devices.

The cable launches alongside the CubeDock and mirrors many of the specifications found in Apple's own Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable, at a lower price point.

Pricing, availability, and CES promotions

Satechi says the Thunderbolt 5 CubeDock is available for pre-order at $399.99 and is scheduled to ship in the first quarter of 2026. The Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable is available at launch for $39.99.

Both products are being shown during CES events, including private suite demos. Satechi plans to offer a 20% discount on CES-launched products through January 31.
