Apple users encountered issues accessing iCloud, in what was a rare Sunday outage for the company's email, cloud storage, and associated services.
Users of iCloud, Apple's online services, ware reporting issues in being able to access files. Sites including DownDetector and StatusGator showed a sudden surge of reports from thousands of users, encountering problems since 10 A.M. Eastern.
The reported issues, for the most part, raised iCloud as being the problem. The range of issues was wide, including claims of iCloud Mail being unavailable, Find My devices disappearing in the app, and an inability to access files stored on the service.
Posts to social media also indicated there was something wrong with iCloud, chiefly referencing iCloud email.
It is unclear how many people were affected by the problem, but the number of posts and reports to detector services was growing as time marched on.
At 10:19 A.M Eastern, Apple updated its System Statuspage with two issues. Both iCloud Mail and iWork for iCloud issues concluded two hours later at 12:20 P.M.
Apple's conclusion update was also used to add three more to the table. Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager, and Apple Business Essentials were all tagged with the same 10:10 A.M. start time as iCloud Mail and iWork for iCloud, and Resolved" by 12:26 P.M.
However, Apple doesn't offer much detail about the problems, other than "Some users are affected" and that they "may be experiencing issues with this service."
