Apple has validated recent rumors by announcing an updated store for Los Angeles's Westfield Century City mall, located on Santa Monica Boulevard.
The "all-new" store will open sometime this fall, Apple said on its website. The company didn't offer any more details, such as amenities, operating hours, or plans for Today at Apple events.
Rumors about the upgrade first emerged last month, indicating that Apple was hoping to take advantage of Century City's $1 billion in renovations, set to complete by the end of the year. The new shop may be based at the center of the mall, next to a Peloton and across from Rolex.
The existing Century City store dates back to 2005 and is extremely small compared with most modern Apple outlets, especially for such a prominent location.
The new shop should not only be bigger but adopt Apple's latest retail aesthetic, which includes things like wooden shelves, trees, and oversized video displays.
