Apple executives to speak on machine learning, accessibility at Sight Tech Global

Two Apple executives focused on machine learning are slated to speak about accessibility at the Sight Tech Global conference in December.

Apple's Jeff Bigham and Sarah Herrlinger are set to speak with TechCrunch editor-in-chief Matthew Panzarino at the conference about "Apple's approach to accessible design, advances of the past year, inclusivity in machine learning research and latest approaches and future features," TechCrunch reported Friday.

Herrlinger serves as Apple's sneer director of Global Accessibility Policy & Initiatives. In that role, she leads accessibility programs for Apple that include support for disability communities worldwide, Apple accessibility technologies, and "other initiatives that promote Apple's culture of inclusion."

Bigham is the research lead for artificial intelligence and machine learning accessibility at Apple. In addition, he's an associate professor of computer sincere at Carnegie-Mellon.

The Sight Tech Global conference will be held virtually in 2021 — and for free. It's set to take place on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
