AppleInsider's review called it the "Mac accessory you didn't realize you need," until you've got it. Elgato's Stream Deck is a panel of physical buttons that can be programmed to control just about any aspect of your Mac — or very many aspects.

You can set one button to launch a dozen apps, and two dozen documents in each one, if you want to. In this model, you have 15 such buttons but there's even more variety than that suggests.

That's because you can have Stream Deck display one set of 15 buttons when you open Safari, but a completely different set when you launch Final Cut Pro. It is infinitely variable and easily worth its regular $150.
