In this week's special episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, The Verge's Jennifer Tuohy stops by to discuss the future of HomeKit, Matter, and much more.
This week we had special guest Jennifer Tuohy, smart home reporter from The Verge, stop by to talk about HomeKit.
Matter was a large discussion point, revolving around the shaky rollout and how it will impact HomeKit users. While it is heralded as the savior of the smart home, Tuohy is a bit more cautious.
We also discussed smart locks, Thread, the new GE Cync line, and the Roborock MaxV Ultra smart vacuum and mop.
There wasn't much news for the week, other than the first demo of Aqara's HomeKit-enabled presence sensor leaking online. Touhy has opinions, too, as to why why motion and presence sensors just don't seem to get much love.
