New Apple Music student subscribers can get free Beats Flex

Last updated

Alongside its existing back-to-school offers, Apple is providing new subscribers of its Apple Music Student plan a free pair of Beats Flex earphones.

Available to new accounts subscribing to Apple Music on the cheaper Student plan starting from June 22, the offer provides users in the United States and the United Kingdom free Beats Flex earphones.

According to the terms and conditions of the offer, it applies only to students in the two countries who haven't previously subscribed to any Apple Music tier. Qualifying for an Apple Music Student subscription requires studying a bachelor degree, post-graduate degree, or equivalent higher education course, and be verified as a student either through Apple or a supported third-party verification partner.

The subscribers become eligible for the earphones once they make their first monthly payment for their subscription. Within 30 days of becoming eligible, Apple will send accounts the instructions to redeem their free pair of Beats Flex earphones, which must be redeemed within 90 days of receipt.

The offer arrives not long after Apple opened up its 2022 Back to School gift card promotion, which provides gift cards alongside educational discounts.

Apple quietly updated its pricing in the U.S., U.K., and Canada on June 22 or June 23, raising the Student plan price to $5.99 instead of $4.99, or an alternate local currency. Pricing for other plans remain unchanged.

What a strange way of putting that, it's only three territories, you could have just listed them.  It's from $4.99 to $5.99 / month in Canada,  £4.99 to £5.99 / month in the UK.
